A Stalker's Serenade

A Stalker's Serenade

A Chapter by DoormanDan
"

A poem about a serious stalking incident I dealt with at the end of high school. Written from the perspective of a stalker.

"

Showered in Shadow,

I watch you gently breathe,

Knowing that soon,

This love I must unsheathe.

Please don’t flee when I

Let my fervor flow free,

For all that I want

Is to strum your heartstrings.

Selflessly I’ve suppressed this baleful craving for so long,

But I can no longer shun my miasmic obsession!

You’re my God

And I’m your Christ nailed to the cross,

Just begging

To be baptized in black blood.

I can’t wait anymore!  Turn me into your little w***e!

Leave my bashful body on the floor, broken and lovelorn!

My poisonous passion,

Why can’t you see my holiness?!

Tell me why you always

Leave me festering in loneliness!

Oh, what must I say to

Become your pockmarked poetess?!

Tell me, and I promise

I’ll scream it until I’m left voiceless!

My mangled angel wings have burned in this dark delusion,

And I no longer care about any repercussions,

Of pursuing this fixation!

Coming right off of hearing about the death of my birth Mom, I went straight into another cycle of...unfortunate circumstances. One was my adoptive mom being hospitalized by double pneumonia (from which we were told she might not survive. Thankfully, she did and made a full recovery), and the second one was having a stalker.

This stalker was seriously obsessed with everything I did, and at first, I was blissfully unaware, and just thought, innocently, that she was just being very friendly. But then she started following me everywhere around the school, got a hold of my phone number somehow, and spread lies about me dating her (she was 15 at the time while I was 19, so I shut that down REAL quick).

I really should have brought it up to the school staff first, but instead, I decided to handle it myself by confronting her. I told her that I was VERY uncomfortable with everything she had been doing, and that I was NOT interested in being her boyfriend (bad idea to do this!).

What came in the upcoming days was a series of furious glares from far distances, angry text and phone calls spams that resulted in me blocking her number, and, at the very end, a murder plan from her.

One day, friends of mine overheard her talking about her plan to bring a knife to school the next day to kill me with, which they immediately told school staff about. First thing next morning, her bag was seized by officers, and guess what? She had brought a knife. Her plan had been to walk up to me during our lunch period and stab me until I was dead. Thankfully, none of this happened! But I was shaken up a fair bit by all of it.

I rarely write poetry this dark, but writing this definitely helped me get over everything. Enjoy :)
