Flatline

Flatline

A Chapter by DoormanDan
"

A poem that deals with trauma I've endured at the hands of somebody who was once a friend.

"

When we first met, I don’t think I’d have guessed

You’d become so f*****g virulent,

You parasitic pathogen!

I convulse in the cancer you spread!

You paranoid, petulant, obsessive b***h,

Bestriding me, brandishing your syringe,

You can rape my nerves with your injections,

But I won’t submit to your contagions!

You think I’m terminally stricken,

But I’ll string these crimson iv cords around your neck,

And then laugh, with my faith traumatized,

As I watch you flatline!

Author's Note

DoormanDan
This one's definitely different from the style I usually write poetry in. I wanted to just keep a shred of my poetic side in this, but primarily wanted this one to be led by unbridled rage that is only experienced at end of a mental breakdown (hence the rather vulgar, dark tone, as well as the rather disturbing, albeit shock value seeking, abrupt change of pace at the end).

This piece has gone through many, MANY iterations, and is about a former friend of mine who I had a bit of a falling out with, and they decided to start spreading serious lies about me around my university campus. This all led to a serious mental blackout for me (as I was also still reeling a bit from previous traumas), which still has left me with a series of maybe four weeks where I cannot recall much of anything.

Anyways, I got university officials involved, and after presented them with the proof I needed to clear my name, they sided with me and gave her a warning to stop. Not much, but it was enough to make it so nothing ever happened again. Needless to say, I am not friends with this person anymore.
