Unkept promises

They always say,
That they will stay.
That they're always there...
When i'm not in need,
Then, they are indeed,
Always there.

I'm here to hear em out,
Even if its only a shout.
Wont promise for how long,
Cause it all might just go wrong.

Sometimes i wish i was blind,
So i wont see
All passin by when i'm in need.
Sometimes i wish i was deaf,
Or maybe even dead,
So i wont hear em laugh,
While i can't even smile.

Have a good time,
Enjoy while i die.

I always feel like promises are meant to be broken... I try not to buy into the b.s. although I do hope for the best. I must say... I never wish I was blind or deaf but sometimes I wish others were lol... good write :)

Don't you die on me. It'll kill me and eat me up inside if you leave me. You are a wonderful poet and I hope that your writing is therapeutic for you. I know what it's like to have everyone you care about leave you when you need help. My friends thought my cries for help meant nothing. They just said "That's just, River" and brushed it off as nothing. I've been alone most of my life and that is why I refuse to let anyone else go through what I did. I'm here for you. This addresses the feeling of just wanting to be alone. You don't want to hear or see so that you don't know those who could have but didn't. Basically saying it's better to be alone... It's very nicely put and impacts everyone (because who hasn't been here?). Good job ^^ Keep dreaming.
