The Armor of Shadows

 

 

We shall never repent

In these pyres

Where the sane never sees

We will never utter

All the words left unsaid

 

Below the earth

And the pillars of faith

I see my deliberation

In the distant darkness

I walk through the nether

To abase this vermin

That draws us out of the light

 

The gravity of our bearings

The armor of shadows

The aegis never belonging

 

I set sail in waters of affinity

The surface without a reflection

I see my deliberation

In the distant darkness

I walk through the nether

To damage this virtue

That draws us out into the night

 

The gravity of our bearings

The armor of shadows

Very good poem. Nice flow and beautiful imagery. I really like the repetition of "The gravity of our bearing / The armor of shadows / The aegis never belonging" It's powerful wording and it was a very good decision to repeat it amongst the other wonderful stanzas. Not to mention ending on it. Well done.
