You Shouldn't Have Done ThatA Chapter by KittenI stood behind Jeff. Shaking from fear of. Something. There
was a long pause. Uncomfortably long. Finally the silence broke. It was Deo. “He
honestly stopped you last night?” He asked. I nodded. Deo glanced at Nesh and
sighs. “Jeff… You
have successfully done something we have never been able to do. But. You still
are who you are. Which I don’t like. And if at any point that I feel as if you
are going to hurt any of us. I will not hastate.” He said. Was that a yes? Jeff
could. Stay..? Jeff just nodded and I tugged at his sleeve. “Come on.
Let’s go lay back down.” I said as he turned to me. We both walked back to me
room. I shut the door behind me. I was upset still. For whatever reason. And I
think he could tell. Because his mangled features showed concern. I just gave
him a soft smile and sat on my bed. He sat down next to me. I sighed lightly
and crawled up onto my bed and lay with my face in the pillow. I felt movement
so I knew he was coming to lie next to me. I started to cry softly. Trying to
be silent about it. But soon my whole body was shaking with each sob. I felt
his hand rest on my shoulder. I didn’t dare look at him. I just moved and
curled myself into his chest. He held me to him tightly. I clung to his shirt
and sobbed. I’m sure he was wondering why I was crying so much. I wasn’t even
sure to be really honest. But he didn’t ask. He just held me until I had cried
myself to sleep. I woke a
few hours later. Not really remembering what happened. Jeff was still there.
Sleeping soundly. I carefully wormed my way out of his grip and went out to go
get a drink of something. Nesh and Deo had either went out or were upstairs.
Was tonight date night? I couldn’t remember. As I was pouring myself a glass of
juice I heard a noise I was unfamiliar with. I looked around and saw Jeff had
woken up and followed me out. He looked at me with worry. I gave him a small
unconvincing smile. He just walked over and hugged me. I hugged him tightly. “Hey… Would
I be able to shower…?” He asked. I looked up at him. “Yeah. But.
Wont you need clothes..?” I asked. He nodded. “Well… I
can wash what you have and I think I have some clothes from an ex…” I said
walking to my room. I searched through my closet. I had a full outfit of clean
clothes for him. I handed them to him. “Just. Go
get in and toss your clothes out the door. Alright?” I said. He nodded and his
smile got wider. If that was possible. I went back to my drink and waited until
I had finished it to go grab his clothes. His hoodie would have to washed by
itself. It was coated in blood and needed bleached. So I put that in first. His
other things I placed in my hamper to be watched next. He was out of his shower
as soon as I was putting his hoodie in the dryer and putting what I had left in
the washer. He walked out to me. It was weird seeing someone else wearing those
clothes. Especially him… I just smiled at him. “Feel
better?” I asked as he hugged me. I hugged him back and he nodded. We just kind
of stood there hugging until I nearly jumped out of skin when I heard a knock
on the nearby window. I turned and saw another familiar face. Jeff seemed to
scowl at the man. I smiled and happily let him in. “So. This
is where you’ve been hiding Jeff?” He asked. He have me a soft grin. I saw
angry in Jeff’s face. Weren’t these two best friends? We was he upset..? Could
it be? No… “Ben. What
are you doing here?” Jeff asked. “We thought
you had been killed or something.” He said. “I worry
about you when you go missing my bro.” He continued. I just watched them. “Well. I’ve
promised to watch over this girl. She’s a broken one…” He said. Ben’s face
seemed to drop. Mine did as well. He looked from Jeff to me. He walked up to
me. He gave me the same look I got form Jeff last night. “Your to
good to be harming yourself…” He said solemnly. I looked down. I was starting
to question why these guys. Murders. Ruthless monsters. Why, as soon as a case
like me comes up. They suddenly change. I wanted to question. But I didn’t. He
looked back over at Jeff. “Well.
Just. Don’t stay to out of touch. I got a video game to haunt. I’m out.” He
said climbing back out the window. I just stood ringing my hands. Jeff walked
over and pulled me against him again. He placed a shy awkward kiss to my
forehead. My cheeks flushed bright red. But I hide my face into his shirt.
Hopefully he didn’t see. I heard the dryer go off. I went to go take out his
hoodie. Most of the stains were gone. Which was good. I placed what was left in
the dryer. I began to fold his hoodie and carried it over to him. I placed it
in his hands and smiled. His smiled once again widened. I felt him grab my
wrist and pull me to him. He pressed his lips to mine. I was in complete shock
and I could feel him shaking from nerves. I kissed him back, taking him in. Both
of our faces were red. I couldn’t believe it. I knew I was insane for this.
Loving someone like him. But, I guess that what made it ok. He isn’t exactly the
sanest person either. © 2013 KittenAuthor's Note
