Doors Of Perception

Alone in this somehow parallel state of mind
Somehow a hidden reality unexplained I find
Things make more sense here
And at times when they do not
Life is just another dream
Emotions are just thoughts
Silence plaques my wandered paranoia
No longer can I be fairly normal
Darkened is the place I call home
Lingering between this world and the next
Hearing that haunting forgotten song
Clearly out of breath I am vexed
Often I feel a permanent shadow
Behind myself, I am not whole
This is just another lost feeling
My thoughts buried beneath my soul
Why I'm lost in this grey limbo
Is just another answer I don't know
Days into nights with faltered speed
Melodic in it's portentous frame of time
Knowing exactly what I didn't see
Unable to feel a world once mine
Nothing can ever come from slumber faded
And again I slip into a dream sedated

I like the subject. I enjoy poems that explore individuals deep states of mind and awareness.

This was really good, it gave me the sense of being in a coma, dreaming and being aware that i was alive, but just couldn't get out, constantly circling my own thoughts.
