In August

In August

A Poem by daveyboygreen

In blankets

in August

our bouncers to the stubborn summer cold

I whispered

my breath recorded

in a billow of steam

written in warmth

on the evangelistic freeze

'I cannot spoil you

because I love you'

it turned out

you cannot love me

because I spoil you.
