Island of no attention

My life is an island of no attention,
on the sea of no affection.

There is no one on this island but me,
but still the island doesn't notice me.

The waves of the outcast go only on I,
for I am the only outcast they spy.

The rain of lonely souls falls down on me,

the lighting of distrust hits me.

Down my face goes a tear,

I think i'm going to die here.

In the sea of no affection,

On the island of no attention

"There is no one on this island but me/but still the island doesn't notice me," This was definitely my favorite line of the whole poem. Something about this line is what lends the poem its degree of wanting for attention and affection and the loss and loneliness found in its absence. By saying that the island does not notice you, are you using the island as a metaphor for people. When I read the poem, that's how I interpreted the poem. The rest of the poem is interesting as well, because of the "lonely souls" that fall down on you and the distrust felt. I didn't quite understand the line "The waves of the outcast go only on I," (?) Is there a type somewhere?
