yearning for the birth of a new love ... but alas, it is too late and too many years ... no matter how much our heart desires, it can never be ...

some things just can't be changed
     … no matter how much our hearts desire
some things just can't be changed
     … no matter how we feel
some things just can't be changed
     … no matter how much we want to say something
some things just can't be changed
     … no matter our true intent
some things just can't be changed
     … yet the heart still yearns,
         and hope, springs eternal
