My Walk With You

My Walk With You

A Poem by Donald Cole
"

My children, My world

"

In the quiet of my mind
In the stillness of my heart
I feel so lost in the world
Of which I hold a part
I’ve given you my soul
I’ve given all of me
And you will always know
From the love that you will see
For my walk with you is certain
And never shall it end
For when my life is over
Into heaven it does extend
And though I walk before you
While you are not by my side
You’ll know I always reach to you
As you know I’ve always tried
For you’ve become my everything
And you will always feel
For my love is so certain
And oh, just how so real
For it does determine
Every step I take
To only bring you closer to me
For you, my heart can’t break
You’ll always be my world I’ll never want set free
And you will always be mine
Always a part of me.
Dad

Interesting ending; reading I assumed the poem was a love poem for a spouse. When it shown its about a child-father relationship; view the poem in a different light and relate in another way. Lyrical, lovely, and like the rhyming

To only bring you closer to me
For you, my heart can't break
You'll always be my world
