The Song of A SailorA Poem by devonA poem I wrote for the Tovli's Ten - Word Acrostic Contest for Helena's Blue Rose Cafe.I spiral down into the waters of a dark, raging sea. Am I dead, I wonder, or have I just yet to sink? A single truth has summoned me here, where I cannot fall down to my knees - Man is withered down by his own kind’s disease. In the coldness of my cage, though, I sing a song of glee. Love, in all of its greatness, might just set me free. With worn and tired limbs, I paddle through an ocean so deranged. The need to find complete and total love, my saving grace, is one far too deep. Setting my hopeless eyes to the sky, I behold its shining ores - Stars, in all of their beauty, will surely guide me back to shore. © 2012 devonAuthor's Note
