Guitar Gods And Action HeroesA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
The days of guitar
gods And action heroes
are gone. With them goes The identity of the
world That molded me Into the man I am. Does that make me
an antique Or an heirloom? When breathing
becomes difficult I can’t help but
wonder If it is the
metaphorical bubble wrap Used to protect me
in storage Squeezing the life
out of me. Thank God for
dreaming To keep me aired
out So I don’t begin to
smell like mothballs. If only they had
put out Seasons of shows Out on DVD when I
was young. Then I could play
back my youth In the cross
examining Of my memories To find out which
ones were true And which were lies
of vanity. Maybe then… Just maybe I can play the
guitar While saving the
world. © 2012 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Reviews
