Your New Math(Doesn't Add Up)

 

Breaking Down the whole with fractions

is how you trivialize the outcome

in order to make your solution

seem like the equalizer.

When in reality it is nothing more

than a subpar version of pi.

You can add up all your gains

but you cannot calculate

the madness they create.

Then again why concern yourself

with lint filled pockets

when your leather belt just broke

from too much eating.

Rest assured that gluttony is not just a sin

and the day the heart attacks you

it will be a revival of the fittest souls.

Thanks for the "Gum ball",I was nervous when you went for the lint,I have a belly button that collects it, Saving for a pillow,tough times,said the kitty but the milks sure cheep,that bump must of moved things around in my head,new math ,and a sin,crank the music,we are "muddin" now!Slinging rubber and cow chips,how high can you see it?

I was really into the whole math vibe (even though it is, decades later, a subject which still baffles and instills ire) and I was totally digging the metaphor, when all of a sudden you yanked me out of advanced math and threw me into sociology 101...I'm not saying I don't like the poem, because I do...a lot...but it seems you didn't complete the thought the title promised ;-)

Man if a leather belt broke, then I'd say that's gluttony! Cool use of math references. All politics aside, I can relate to the message of helping the less fortunate. It is good for the soul.
