Holy Cats

Well since I couldn't get Frieda and Kimmers to write a collar with this title I decided to do it myself... no one was harmed in the making of this poem, written in good fun.

 

Holy cats did you just scratch my back?

Causing my passion for you to bleed,

Now the bed sheets look like a crime scene

And I am still on parole for the last heart I broke.

You are gonna get me locked up for life

While you strut around with your nine.

 

Holy cats did you have to purr like that?

Whispering the words that make me shiver,

Putting me in a position that leaves me speechless

When I was about to make an announcement.

Now I will have to choke on my words

Knowing you got the last one.

 

Holy cats you tore me up without slack

Not leaving a shred of proof

That a heart ever existed inside this chest

Thought it was beating just for you.

All I can do is stitch up the wound

As you feast on my remains.

 

Holy cats you know my ex…

Ahhhh damn now she’s got her revenge

Guess I will just walk away

With my tail between my legs

Mumbling “Holy crap.”

Well, cats are wonderful. They are sweet and comforting, they clean themselves so you don't have to give them baths but take heed, they can become expensive later in their lives and when you are not going to be good enough, when they get off your lap, they'll leave you fleas and other parasites:) Well I am talking about cats. Real cats. Your two muses however are wonderful and dear to me and don't have wingless bloodsucker for sure:D Entertaining write:)

I had to read this one because it is a "kimmerism". I like the poem as it describes the inability to control the outcome when dealing with an untamed creature a beauty and power. However, these cats ate not monsters who consume all in there path. They are misunderstood at times to be such. Rather, the cats are playful. They are soft and cuddly. They are welcoming to the hand that comfortsvand provides for them. Still, you are right in the end. If you fail them, cross them, or forget to "feed" them, well, your dinner and bones.
Great fun with this. Thank you for the adventure in words.

I am not sure of the original intent of this piece but I can relate to what you have written. We think we have life under control, and then somebody comes along and shoves it down our throat, gloating all the while about doing it, and then we are left holding the pieces while they live on as if nothing has happened! The ex wins and we are left to deal with the bread crumbs.
Interesting - not sure I got it, but I tried my friend!

That is as good of any interpretation as any... it was just really a fun write based on a the saying "Holy Cats" that Frieda and Kimmers say. Thank you for the review.

but yes, sometimes it happens again and we wonder if it is the ghost of an ex, or someone hired by the ex...
