A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Take it how you will, my muse is being cryptic today.

"

In a world where midnight is the new noon

twisted angels fly like butterflies

and all crosses require a permit

to be worn around a neck.

Speaking no evil requires a fork

through the tongue,

but spill no blood

for a red rose stain on virgin soil

will create the new age crown of thorns.

Without a second coming savior to wear it

the feet of the innocent will bleed

as an apology to Mother Earth

for the constant pain in her side.

Then we would have a red rose world

where truth and lies blend together

leading us back to the world

we were already living in.

Is this God’s will or human nature?

Amen or Damned?

"In a world where midnight is the new noon"--how can a poem with a first line like this possibly be anything but insanely entertaining?

I truly felt the depth of this one. You touched on some emotions that hit me at my core for some reason. The idea of thing happening and re-happening with or without the hand of fate involved...it's a question to ponder. I shall ponder. Well done.

Don't we all...? My latest one is a little out there too...musing about my days living in LA
This took me to the pages at the back end of the bible called Revelation. But that is going to be a long one so I'll skip that. The world is an endless cycle and everything that have happened, then and now originated from hopeless entanglement of cause and effect. This poem made me think.

well, we can't have that!
The contradiction here, is what gives mother-earth all of her labor pains. Man died, and saved us from the curse of us. What about earth...did he die for this earth? No...it was grandfathered to us, an inheritance that was poorly spent. Eden was always beneath our feet. But here and now, we have forgotten to give thanks, we forgot to share...some of us, forgot what it is to give a damn...some of us, forgot to care.

always welcome...
Now there's a question to ponder - Amen or Damned indeed. Human nature really does complicate the natural order, the way we should be... Good poem.

I feel anger but sadness and the answer to the Amen or Damned is left to each individual.. it's the way of the world.. You know.. I read work like this and am wowed by the depth. It reminds me of how small I am in my 7 word dictionary lol..xo I love this..xo

Thank you very much for your thoughts.
This is exposed and unprotected to say the least, you've targeted many good points with this one Dale, not so cryptic really...lot of frustration in this one. I can't speak to who's at fault here, humankind is a tricky bunch to say the least. Great, this will stay with me for a while...

he wore a crown of thorns for us...to save us...but we are not able to save ourselves...and will eventually wear our own crown of thorns...as mother earth watches us at our own crucifixion...

i like the abstract feeling of this...yet you have such stark images...nicely done.
