So today I was sitting outside for a while enjoy the
beautiful weather. I finally decided
to take my glasses off for a few minutes.
I ended up keeping them off for a while.
I just began looking around. I
have not really looked at the world through my own eyes for a very long time,
well not without assistance. They only
come off to clean them or when taking a shower.
Then I am not paying much attention.
Any ways I just sat looking at nature with my own eyes and a
few things came to mind. First off I
realized how little my eyesight has changed in years and I am grateful for
that. Then I started thinking how my
regular eyesight is not much different from life. My vision is not perfect but then neither is
life. Plus it mat be a bit fuzzy at
times but again so is life. I am talking
bout the decisions we make, the opinions we form and the ideals we create in
our minds.
All of that is based on the life we have led. Our environment growing up, what we were
taught by our elders before we could form our own views and the good and bad
experiences that shape our lives. No
matter how old we get any kind of event could change us for the better or
worse.
There is a song by a guy named Paul Thorn that says, “No
matter what you believe you might be wrong.”
He is referring to how every religion believes they are right and how it
often separates people because they do not agree. That thought though extends to everything in
life. Really life is all about
perception through every individual’s eyes.
In reality the only thing that is black and white is that we all
eventually die. What we do in this life
is like continual artwork, always open to interpretation.
You have written a piece which could open a discussion that would last for hours. You actually "listened" to life's many lessons through your eyes today. As the blind heart sees, hears and feels, the eyes see, hear and feel....just as the ears can see, hear and feel the breaths of life. I guess what I am attempting to convey is that you watched a silent movie of life today, yet your eyes were able to translate all the physical emotions.
Your skilled pen continues to delve deeply into the mysteries that so intrige a writers perception of life.

Well stated on all accounts! Thank you for sharing this and reminding us that we are learning all the time if we are teachable. If we look through negative eyes we will only see negative. If we keep our minds open and listen we just may learn a thing or two on this journey we refer to as life. And I love what you quoted from Paul Thorn, "No matter what you believe you might be wrong"
Perception is a personal thing. I love the sensory and peripheral feel of this piece...there are things lying about just outside of the picture. Nature vs. nurture, perception vs. reality...what is reality? I enjoyed reading this.

Thank you very much for the review and expressing your insight.
personal moments when penned are gifts
to see the world through glassless eyes and think it is always a little fuzzy a little clouded
but the important pert-that we can see even if blind we can see what we choose ...I agree everything is artwork and can be interrupted as each individual sees fit
it is a gift in life-and with this gift comes a choice-to judge or not to judge -it is also up to each individual but with so many different interpretations it can be hard not to judge-
thank you for sharing your thoughts fine sir truly

I like the tone and thoughtfulness of this. I felt like I was sitting out there with you, probably having a drink. I didn't say much, I let you do all the talking. Maybe it was because you were making so much damn sense.

Thank you sir... funny thing is I was having a drink myself, a beer to be exact.
Life is moving, life is learning and life is erasing and re-writing. There is no end to the corrections that can be made. We can forever go on evolving and realizing something new each day. Prefecting on what we thought was perfect. That's the beauty of life. Each day dawns with a new version of us that is up for modification again at dusk. This education is so vast and we are mere humble students with very limited time given to us to imbibe whatever we can.
I believe in improving upon myself, getting stronger and discovering new facets about me everyday. I also want to have faith, hope and forgiveness to be the lessons I carry into my next life.
Wonderful thoughts penned by a very insightful, evolved and thoughtful writer. TThanks for giving me a chance to stop and think, in the mad Monday rush. :)

Yes it certainly would... it is a discussion that could go for a long time.
