This poetry brings to my mind of the darkness of a self-serving world, the death of goodness and the suffering of the undeserving innocents. It made me sad, yet appreciative of the courage needed to survive in such a world.
This is encouraging and shows clearly whose side you are on; on the side of your friends and of those you know, of those you are close to, very nicely penned!
It is so much easier to be strong as a "we" instead of just an "I"... but so few want to stand together anymore... A dark write, with a sliver of hopefulness at the end... great write here, Dale.
I learnt in first year economics: the pursuit of one’s self interest…will in itself promote the interests of society in general. Which is ridiculous because the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer and compassion is seen as weakness. Everyone is being left behind…alone and no one seems to realise that coming together brings life, love…the light back to the people! We’re all just silly fools I suppose …
“Throwing pebbles at
Scary sounds in the dark
Is a blatant double standard.”
Loved that! Absolutely wonderful poem Dale!

Thank you for the review and sharing that knowledge.
Such overwhelming darkness seems to swallow the light at times. You create such emotional instability here, and breathe flames out over the landscape of our time.
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
