Thoughts On The Human Spirit

Thoughts On The Human Spirit

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

A mechanical flow

guarantees a smooth rhythm

but a dull rhyme.

Life is not to be lived on a straight line,

rather maneuvering the curves

that gives a rush to

life’s meaning

that we continually chase

destined to never catch it.

I believe it is by design

for like the coyote

chasing the road runner

it gives us a continual purpose.

In our journey

we will sometimes

travel down a broken road.

Let that be an inspiration

in building a spiritual bridge

to the hope and faith

that waits deep within the heart

for that voyage

to the promise land.

Try to appreciate

The things that come easily

by remembering

those losses you curse

in the act of blaming God

instead of giving fate

a helping hand.

For if the almighty one

made it simple

complacency would become

a fad that would never fade,

and A heart devoid of humanity

Is a porthole to hell.

Again so much wisdom in your work, leaves one pondering. If life were easy, and the path was straight we'd never learn nor appreciate anything. It is life's challenges that offer growth, give us strength, and a deeper appreciation for humanity. Your positivism shines in this piece sweet poet, setting an example for all to follow. Lovely work!

Thank you, not sur how wise I am, just speaking what life has taught me.
You are right. The easy, straight roat is not always the most profitable or the most inspirational. There are no straight lines in Nature.

Thank you very much, that makes me happy to hear.
Words that come from a kind and positive heart. You share of yourself with such pure generosity. Your spirit and thoughts touch many in this wonderful poem. Truth lives within it... One that should be embraced by many.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and a very high compliment.
I like the support of humanity in this poem. So often it seems we devalue the human spirit. In this poem I see a reality check without negativity.
Great philosophy Dale.

geez, Dale....now i know why i never catch life's meaning...i keep using those "ACME" products...

meep meep...

i really like this metaphor...because the real meaning isn't in some poem's perfect construct..

it is free verse feeling....stepping out of one's comfort zone.

damn good poem to read this morning.

reads like a a bible study...
a reflective piece in the lines...
about life itself and the order of things...
being a man of faith...
this adds perspective...
