A Bleeding Confession

 

Tis my rebel heart’s confession

That being caught between

The love of being free

And the idea of someone completely

Is a rush and a curse.

 

Defective in more ways then one

Seems to be what drives

The rhythmic beat

To break up blood clots

That are caused by

Dirty instincts.

 

Let it be written

That a drum solo

Can only go on

 For so long

Before continually

Pounding the skins

Will cause internal hemorrhaging

Till vulnerable flesh and bones

Turns into the rock

You try to get blood from.

Relatable rebel heart...( i hear Billy Idol sorry haha) The balance between wanting to be unconditionally loved and doing your own thing can be pulled in one direction one day and the other the next... at least it seems that way at times. I do agree with Strix though, that once you find that perfect soul that loves every imperfect piece of you...it can make that leather clad rebel heart into a softie, in no time flat. Awesome write, loved it!

the trick is being with a person who accepts you... all of you, and that I suppose is the "trick"... Ive only found one that knows me as all that I am, a giving spirit, a loving heart, a quiet outcast, a raging monster... how she could love me Im not sure. You just wake up one day and the need to be "different" is gone from your heart and a need of some idea of "normalcy" is there. I dont believe it happens to everyone and at any given age, it just happens if it does.

i wonder if this is me...do i sabotage relationships because i really want to be free, when it comes down to it...i don't know...i do know the idea of being with someone completely is so comforting...but then...the idea of just being who, what and where i want to be, whenever i want to be it...also makes perfect sense.
