                  Click…

 

In shudder

         Speed time

 

I’m blinded

In the name

         Of studying still life;

 

Still my life

Now left without…

                  Sight...

 

So an electric eye

         Can spy the workings of

         An independent mind.

 

Snap

         Snap

                  Snap…

 

In the blink of

         The lenses’ eye

 

The heart is

Paralyzed,

In a state of freeze frame;

 

The price that is paid

In finding out

         How expensive

                  Bleeding on the silver screen

 

Will be to those…

         Who finance

         The big picture,

 

         And those who pay

         To escape… real life;

 

         REALLY?

 

I mean haven’t we learned

The stars only shine

Against the backdrop

         Of a night sky,

 

But has no influence

Beneath the harsh reality

 Of the sun’s heat

                  Lording over

         Exposed film negatives.

The lens of our mind can't focus on the stars if the sun gets in the way. "click, click, click ... snap, snap, snap ..." is a way to get around the Sun as well as other distractions that may blind us to a deeper awareness of Reality. The form of this poem is impressive. I'm beginning to experience the art of word placement ( such as the placement of stars in the sky that form the constellations) on this poetry site.
