Don't Drink And Write,You Could Wreck Your Feelings (And Somebody Could Get Hurt)

Don't Drink And Write,You Could Wreck Your Feelings (And Somebody Could Get Hurt)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

One beer

       Two beer

              Three beer;

       Now I can write;

With my emotions numb

And my vision unclear

I can spill the ink

And it will still make sense.

       Fourth beer chugged;

Now I can say

What I couldn't before

And still claim

Plausible deniability.

Fifth beer downed;

Now what I print

Will remind me

What the subconscious

Won’t say,

Once reality sobers me up.

       Six beers later;

The evidence is gone,

Now I can pass out in peace

Before I express

What I sense

When my thinking isn’t clear,

And hurt my own feelings

With intoxicating truth.

Some writers do good work while they drink. Hemmingway did. Stephen King dd some of his best work while stoned.

However posting comments on W.C. while drinking is a bad idea. You can't delete them...

Thank you kindly sir.
I like what Ance said. Red wine is more my beverage of choice...but we digress. Very articulate and full of truth, and well thought out in expressing it.

Thank you so much for your kind words Jennie
Very nice poem, know so many fine poets used to do this, never tried it, no intention to do it in near future, I have heard plenty of times truth comes out when some one drinks, a poet who drinks a lot stops all of a sudden his ability to write may or may not change, really enjoyed poem

Thank you very much, I was actually being metaphoric but you made some great points.

Dear God,

Please grant me the strength to always be honest and true...
And God has answered with another glass of fine red wine.
