A Foreigner To Love

I want to challenge my self by writing a poem using the titles of songs of one artist. For this I chose the super group Foreigner, The song titles are in parenthesis

For far too long

I’ve been a “Dirty White Boy”

“Urgent” to become

A “Juke Box Hero”,

All that dream chasing

Has taken its toll on my soul,

For my heart has become “Cold As Ice”

Playing “Head Games”

With lady’s hearts,

But “That Was Yesterday”;

Since you’ve come into my life

I have become “Hot Blooded”

For your lovin’.

My “Double Vision”

Has now become clear,

I can now see straight,

Who knew I was “Waiting For A Girl Like You”,

So please “Say You Will” be mine

Till the end of time,

Cause “I Want To Know What Love Is”

And I would love you to spend a lifetime

Teaching me.

Cowboy, someone wrote a poem or a short story a couple of months ago using references to the Beatles...she somehow fit in 'the yellow submarine' and at least four other songs I can't remember right now. She was astonished that I didn't follow the beatles, yet managed to name the songs she fit into the poem. If I were you, I'd unbold the titles and see if anyone can pick them all out. Then, it becomes a fun treasure hunt! Great writing, by the way!!!

This is great, Dale! Several years ago, I wrote a piece using song titles that were significant for a friend who was getting married - a fun challenge. You used some great songs, and made this work well!
