Fall From Grace

Fall From Grace

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

An angel clips her wings

In hopes of flying close

To the majestic eagle,

By destroying her perfect span

God has graced her with,

The balance of the halo is gone,

Causing her to crash into

The devil’s threshold,

Now she is left with no choice

But to sacrifice her innocence

To save her sanctuary's secrets,

And forever be marked

With the number of the beast.

I see you changed the thir to last line; much better. Poor angel--she should have known better...

Love the edits you've made. You came up with a better solution for my suggestion. "To save her sanctuary's secrets" has a good rhythm and I like the alliteration. "The number of the beast" is a powerful image also. I think I'm going to save this in my favorites.

This poem is tragic yet intriguing. Written about an angel and the devil yet sounds familiar....you wrote so beautifully and convincingly.

The balance of the Halo is gone- metaphorically rich as this poem it reminds me of the poem,"Sick Rose" by William Blake. A tempting down to earth read.

Wow thank you so much :)))
This one is very sad, Cowboy. No angel should sacrifice her wings for anyone. Bad boys aren't worth it in the end, and the last line gives me chills. Great write, my friend.

Thank you so much.
Sounds like falling in love with a bad boy....been there, the eagle isn't so hot, and not worth the fall.

Tripped a bit over 'to save the home she love's secrets'....but I got it.

Very Poe-ish :) I have no clue about the punctuation, so I will leave that to Jennie below, I am trying to figure out how this makes me feel, sad for her, I think, but in a bizarre way I want to cheer for her, lol.
