Who I Am Beyond The Pen

My first entry in my new Edgar Allen Poe journal

I talk to my journal

         In ink,

Making my feelings

         Permanent?

My penmanship so messy

In case I lose

         My words…

Then no one can decipher

         My feelings,

         Plagiarize,

And become me.

 

For if I am not unique

Then I am not me,

         The soul God created,

         The man the Devil tempted,

         The spirit I unperfected…

 

So please feel free to read my,

         To feel me,

                  To feel for me,

Just never dehumanize me.

I really like this. It's something extremely true. These words we write are the deep thoughts that remain at the back of our minds and only show up when we pen down our feelings. Amazing work there, Cowboy. :)

I wish I was a journalist...there will be no letters when I am gone.No tears on the pages of chicken scratch memoirs. No famous last words. No remembrance in my artistry. No beginnings or ends. You might have inspired me..... The subject of this piece at hand seems to be in alot of poet hearts today. We want to be real...tangible....without being sold. Thanks Cowboy!
