I Am… If You Are

I can talk all night

If you tell me more

Than the eye can see.

If you shut me out,

You shut me down.

My heart’s grip

Is strong enough

To hang on by the tips

Of its arteries,

But if you just hang there

For too long

They will eventually

Lose their hold,

Coming apart,

Leaving me without

Blood flow.

 

When the heart dries out

The beat doesn’t go on.

I have more than enough

To give you everything I have,

But even the deepest well

Runs out of its essential element

When there is a drought.

 

I will do a rain dance

If that is what it takes

To get the emotions flowing,

But I have to know

You have no reservation

About falling into my heart

Like a storm in the heartland.

Well you need a umbrella if you do that
rain dance correctly as it won't do nothing
for the heart but you will get rained on alright if
you do a rain dance the native Americans did to pray to
the Great spirit meaning holy spirit.

I think there are no rain dances powerful enough to melt the heart of one unwilling to love. It's the whole vulnerability thing. Loved this, Dale.
