I roam this earth

As if it is a metal jungle,

For I know when

I imagine it that way

My spirit will never be caged.

 

The rhythm of this wilderness

Is from my heart that beats

Like that of a lion.

 

The majestic growl

Of the black panther

Are lyrics written by my soul

In the middle of a quiet night.

 

Having the mind of an elephant

Ensures that I will never forget

Those who tried to make me

Feel like a mouse,

And will always remember

Size does not determine inner strength.

 

I make my way in a world

That can never tame my individuality

By living my life

Like a rock and roll animal.

hard on the outside, mushy on the inside.. individuality should never be tamed... love the ending cowboy.. so many true lines.. size does not determine inner strength nor potential.. plenty of stories throughout history that shows that... I love the resilient tone of this one.. it is empowering... it has hope.. it is motivational.. and can hear the roar from here.. good job Dale..

I love that you used the jungle as a metaphor for our wild world, and you specifically used the big cats to symbolize your heart and soul. Great write, Cowboy! I'm partial to the big cats. I used to have a gigantic poster of a lion on the wall over my bed in college. Great, big wild woolly beasts in the night. Kings of the Jungle. Simply awesome!
