(We Are) That Simple

Not so much creative as thoughts put into print.

We are all normal

         We are all abnormal

We all are flesh and bone

         We all bleed red

We all laugh

We all cry

We all search for purpose

         We all have a voice

We can all make a difference

         We all need a helping hand

 

We all have enough in common

To get along, it is really just that simple

So let us bond in our differences

Rejoice in what makes us different

Instead of complicating things with hate.

It is so sad that different is so often seen as a reason for prejudice; as a justification for persecution, rather than celebration. As you say, we are all flesh and blood, we all bleed the same colour red; how stupid it is that mankind is so divisive.

I do rejoice that the world has such differences in it, for life would be dull otherwise. I believe I wrote a poem once stating that no one would care to look at a rainbow made up of one colour.
