The Bookends

The Bookends

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

A well-written synopsis

About the book of you and me

Can be deceiving when using words

With more than one meaning.

And putting a sleeve

On our well used copy

Might hide the tattered binding,

But that won’t keep the pages

We continually reread

Hoping to find new meanings

Between the lines

From falling out.

The only way to save

This classic literature

We penned together

Is to put it on a dusty shelf

Between the bookends.

marvelous metaphor used here to describe a relationship...and how to save the good of it....get that book pressed between the other books between those bookends.
