No Death When It's Over

Easter is upon us

 

Within the darkest shadows

That you walk in the valley of death

I will be the pyre

That will light your afterlife,

For death is not dying,

Rather the fear of dying.

Wrapped in my eternal love

Your heart will forever beat,

Even when the flesh is cold.

Believe not in the things

That I say to you,

But what you feel

When I am touching your soul,

That is how you know

That I am your life

And you are mine.

This might be one of my favorite poems of yours that I've read so far! I love the way it can be interpreted in an "Easter" way . . . or in a romantic way . . . or just figuratively about life in general. The word choices are very gentle, which is enhanced by your chosen font. My favorite idea: "For death is not dying,

Very beautiful! I am awed with the complexity in such a simple worded poem. It is so deep and full of emotion it just drags you in! I am astounded, truly. You have such a pretty style of writing and its rather haunting. Picking at the soul with your words, drawing out memories we didn't even know we had and wishes we have never uttered before!
