The Valley Of DeathA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)As
I walk through a wall of nocturnal flames I
am transported to a land so barren Even
cockroaches could not survive. My
journey is taking an eternity Because
my pride holds my hand as we walk side by side. There
is no relief in this land of Six
hundred and sixty-six degrees. My
resolve was singed by the time I reached the city Of
the living corpses only to find they are afraid of me… Because I am different, Because
I have a heartbeat. Exposed
and burnt like everything else inside me It
still gives me the power to be king. I
reluctant rule these names without faces Like
a Broadway director overseeing rehearsals of a play, Until
the sunshine curtain finally rises and I can spotlight The
mercy from what was lost yesterday. © 2018 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Reviews
