Just A Bit Off

Just A Bit Off

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

A little to the left

Would be putting me

Way to far to the right,

So I must mark my spot

By carving my initials

In a tree with a dull knife.

Now my roots are scarred

Sitting in the middle of dried tar.

I think I am going insane

Because I am accepting the blame

For why the cradle won’t rock

Leaving the baby stuck at the top.

i read it through 3 times .i am not sure what this is about , yet i loved reading it .I think it really matters when we leave our mark , our carving somewhwere, i know what it feels like to have your roots somewhere and there is definiteley courage in not leaving your place , your faith , when someone asks you to shift . i am here to learn from experienced poets like you .thank you so much for sharing , sir.
Love , Ankita

to me the Baby is our country....and it is stuck...
i could go quite far left and never be on the right, i'm afraid.
but i am not very happy these days with either way the cradle rocks.
and it is driving me insane.
