This is virtually an oath of allegiance, it displays unselfishness and loyalty in a very powerful yet straightforward way. Then, the reader reaches those final three lines and knows that what came before is leading up to the deep feelings of: 'I will bleed for you / even if in return / your blood runs cold for me'
It's a mix of sadness and strength. Thank you for sharing this post.
Somehow, I believe this about you. After reading your work, I find you to be such an uncomplicated, complicated man . . . LOL . . . much like me, although, I'm not a man *winks*
These words resonate how I feel. I would gladly put myself before those I love. I try to. Each and every day. Although I am far from perfect.
I loved the message you send in this piece, the subtle shades between right and showy. :) It's an honorable thing to do something right and decline the 'reward' that may come with it. Well done, Dale. You punctured right through and delivered.
Wow, that''s AMAZING. I LOVE it. I love how you wrote it. You distinguished it precisely, you will bleed for humanity but not to prove you are human. I loved it. It reminds me of something I would write lol. It is very selfless as well. Great great piece!
Great poem. I like the matter of factness in it, and i like the message you try to convey. that there are just somethings you wouldn't bleed for. I can completely agree with this. Thanks for sending it my way to read.
I will bleed for humanity but not to prove I'm human....I have never heard that been said before and i just loved it.
It is a very strong poem and keeping it short makes it even more powerful...coz its to the point!
I liked how your words clearly defined the line between the worthy and the petty in each stanza. This is a powerful piece in my opinion. Clearly stating where you stand in relation to the world. The last stanza packs a punch - making the transition from social piece to a more personal one. very intriguing ending - excellent job.
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
