sugar and caffeine

A Chapter by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Jake walked into the station and went straight to the desk he shared with Sally. She was nowhere around. He put the box on the desk and took a jelly doughnut out. As he started to take a bite, he heard Sally say. “Starting tour day off healthy, I see.”

Jake turned around just as Sally was sitting down, ‘Shut up, it’s brain food.”

“Sally tilted her head as she looked at him. “Really. I must have missed that lecture in health class.”

Jake smiled and pointed to the box. “You want one?”

Sally thought a moment and then sighed.” Why not?” She reached in and pulled out a glazed doughnut. “If you say it’s brain food. Who am I t doubt your word.” She took a bite.

Jake swallowed the piece he was chewing. “I hope you got some rest last night. Because we are gonna be doing a little walking today.”

“I got enough.” Sally looked around the desk. “What? No coffee?”

Jake looked at her with a sheepish grin. “Oops. Where’s my head?”

Up Your _”

“Don’t say it,” Jake said playfully.

“Why?” Say matched his sheepish smile. “Truth hurt?” She stood up.” Well, if we’re gonna be doing a lot of walking and talking, I’m gonna need some caffeine.”

Jake stood up.”Sounds good to me. We’ll stop at a Starbucks on the way.
