Inappropriate Commercial?A Story by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Agree or not I would love to hear your opinionFor those of you that know me you know am very liberal and easygoing. I don’t get offended easily and have a sense of humor bout things. Last night though I saw a commercial that really got under my skin. I just found it highly inappropriate for the situation. Let me explain. Back in the eighties there was a rap called “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix A Lot. It starts off “I like big butts and I can not lie…” I always loved it, thought it was fun plus I love the butt. So this commercial comes on with that song as the jingle with the words changed but you could tell it was Sir Mix A Lot… this time it started off, I Like square butts and I can not lie…” , can’t tell you much bout the words after that but it referred to Spongebob and Patrick… then they had those two dancing on screen with the Burger King mascot. They also flashed to woman dancing made up to look like they had square butts. Eventually they flash to Sir Mix A Lot sitting on a couch watching television with two ladies and he says, “Booty is booty.” Then they let you know Burger King now has Sponge Bob toys in their Kid’s meals. Now I know they changed the song up a bit but the fact they referred to butts and saying,“booty is booty” all to advertise kids toys. I am not offended by much other then things like prejudice and racism, but I have to say I was quite applaud by that commercial. I just found it wasn’t appropriate for their objectives. So tell me what do you think? © 2009 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Author's Note
