What's My Sign? That Old Line

for the decoding the stars contest

  

Born under the cusp

Of the scorpion's reign

In a year ruled by the rooster,

What a combination…

It’s no wonder I’m so confused.

 

A scorpion so full of passion,

That I most certainly am.

Like the water sign I'm under

I let my passion flow to those I care about

To help wash away the pain.

Though only the one who hold my heart

Get to bath in my river of love.

 

The temperamental rooster

Can be moody and outspoken.

Admittedly I've been accused of this a time or two,

But when you follow the heart as I do

Things can get out of hand,

Especially when it comes to

Protecting those close to me,

I will never hide my feelings.

 

Oh the perceptive scorpion,

The detective of the bunch.

I am certainly glad to say

That I'm nobodies fool

And if you try to fool me

I will stop at nothing

and find the truth.

 

The rooster considered eccentric

By most everyone else.

So maybe my taste don’t follow trends,

But I know what I like

And feel no need to hide it.

In or out of style has no barring

On what makes me smile.

 

So maybe I am

A lot like the scorpion,

Even resemble

The rooster defining traits.

But what is most important

Is that I know who I am

And am proud to be.
