Personal Astronaut

Personal Astronaut

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Shape shifting shadows

Disguise a gifted mind,

Making logical rants

Seem like alien chatter

To those blinded by the light.

The more he tries to breath

Like the rest of them

The more he suffocates on oxygen.

Outer space is the only place

He truly feels at home.

It is often very lonely

But the high of being weightless

Is a greater feeling than anything

Gravity could pull toward him.

Now infinite space has become

His permanent playground

And the endless darkness

Brings color to his dreams.

great job with this piece - the vision - the image - so clearly brought to life here - nice!

A powerful vision, within and without... taking us across the vastness of space and inside the depths of the mind as well. Limitless journey...

Well done! Keep on penning.

Some of us need to remain in orbit. The uncommon can't breathe O2 here on Earth's surface. Sometimes our mind cannot resist the road less traveled.

this speaks on deep level. Intricate in thought and I can understand the feeling of this piece. I agree with Emma, it is sort of like your imagination takes you were you want to go...beating to your own tune...powerful ending lines...these lines below are brilliantly expressed...picture perfect actually...

The more he tries to breath
Like the rest of them
The more he suffocates on oxygen

what a fantastic write..truly enjoyed this!

I can't help thinking that this is an ambition of yours Dale, anyway I enjoyed the piece very much. The weightlessness would put you on a high, I never thought about that until now, it would be eerie and wonderful. Deep thoughts run through this in parallels I feel.
Nicely done!

Blessssssssssssssssssssss

I see this as living within the imagination .. that it takes you wherever you want to go ..

Right or wrong, this poem holds deep feelings and thoughts, as if there was something that triggered its original creation. Maybe that reads a little far-fetched ..but i wonder what made you write this?

This poem reads like a dream! I think that that is what you meant, basically. That is how I took it. I look at this writing as a dream, where we are all weightless, aliens to our days, and lost in the infinity of space. I loved it!
