Just One Drop Can Cause A Flood

Just One Drop Can Cause A Flood

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

If you think this is Sacrilegious then you are reading it wrong.

"

Though my vein

Can feel the needle

The flesh is unaware

Of the blood it created.

As numbness

Overcomes the pain

Crimson drips undetected

Creating a red sea

In the crack of the pavement

Parted by man’s mortality.

Once it trickles

Into the gutter

The dirty water flows

Like the Nile

Filling a destiny.

When it baptizes the sewer

All the human waste

Becomes the sacred wine

Making the rats

The body of Christ.

Now the homeless

Can rejoice with a feast

Fit for a God.

It is weird how the numbness always seems to take over the pain...

Thought provoking piece...am wondering ... could this be about the sins of man or the world? ....
My first read I thought Sacrilegious, but then I re-read and this diffanetly has this blonde one thinking... is it the sins of man and/or the world....hmmmmmmmmm
Tell me where I am at with this...if I am way off or what...lol
Very well written and indeed thought provoking and wonderful imagery

Wow, wonderful piece. Speaks to me of death by drug addiction, though I may be reading it totally wrong. Either way, its thought-provoking, which makes this one a success. Enjoyed it much
