Unauthorized Requiem

Unauthorized Requiem

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Slowly she whispers my name,

the tone in her voice

is one from another life;

a life that manipulated time.

In the here and now

time plays this life

like a fiddle with a broken string.

Fear dictates that this voice

has come back with a purpose,

to taunt a mind

already haunted by the cries

of something waiting to exist.

Freedom has become the enemy

for I feel like a gypsy

captured by a Siren’s song,

Leaving me exhausted…

Too tired to dig my own grave

I lye on a bed of roses

to feel the comfort of the thorns

till I bleed beyond eternity.

OMG ... how original... the sweet beginning turning to turmoil then darkness becomes your comfort! Love it! Always~

Why oh why are we humans so determined to keep singing the saddest song of old? Why do we insist on living in pain instead of in joy? I have no idea. Penned incredibly well my friend.

Nice! You have captured dark emotions seething with passion in this alluring piece. I sense an enticing tug-of-war with this Siren's song...to follow until exhausted and knowing there is a danger lurking is captivating.

"Freedom has become the enemy
for I feel like a gypsy
captured by a Siren’s song,
Leaving me exhausted…"~ Hauntingly captivating!... Love the tone of this piece!

Seems Friday morning brings a multitude of passion and yearning and all else; must be the weather, must be the need in the poet's heart, must be .. that love is in the air.

Some glory-us phrases, some powerful desires, seems there's danger in each and every one, but the heart and all doesn't care .. anything, everything, the un-wise man calls!
