snow, stars, and smiles

haha i wrote this for my best friend, buuuuut he's never seen it.

the night is dark and quiet,
snow is falling softly from the stars.
it lands on your nose and you smile.
and i smile, because it's so clear that this is all i need to be happy.
and now we are as quiet as the night.
i shudder, and you pull me closer.
i can feel your heartbeat, steady and sure.
and i know that i am alive.
you're breathing slowly, each breath lingering for a moment, then disappearing.
the sky is watching with envious eyes, longing for what we are.
we sit, and we breathe. we sit, and we listen.
you're here with me, and this is all i've ever needed.
snow lands on your nose, and you smile.
and i smile, because
you are all i need to be happy.
