AdviceA Poem by Declan CooneySomething to listen to...No one's words are worth slits in your skin. No one hears words that they didn't begin. No thing in the future can affect you now. You can correct mistakes quickly if you're willing to learn how. No one fights a foe they know they can't win. No one will love you more if you can't love them. No thing is worth begrudging, withholding, or regretting. You can fight fire with water and induce the begetting. I couldn't speak true words, to make true ears hear. I couldn't fall in love while broken for so many years. I couldn't treat myself kindly, or face others with care. I learned to be obedient, expedient, honorable and fair. We lose those we love, and we love those we lost. We fight for peace with grievances, and declare it has no cost. We join in forces to make the choices for all. We linger in the shadows of our own casted pall. You can be forgiving. You can be forgiven. You can be found. You can be hidden. You can be triumphant. You can be slain. If you can best these elements. You can best this game. © 2009 Declan CooneyAuthor's Note
