AS I WAKE IN THE MORNING by Linda Roylston

AS I WAKE IN THE MORNING by Linda Roylston

A Poem by deedee
"

I always wake up to the chirping of the Sparrows outside my window...so I decided to write about it. This time I was also learning a new song to sing with my new man.

"

As I wake in the morning

To a chirping sparrow in a tree

I hear its lovely song

Is it chirping just for me?

Then another sparrow

Joins the rhythm with its song

I listen very closely

I try to follow right along

Each a little different

In the melody they sing

It is I know a love song

As I watch them flap their wings

Like the song you brought to me

In your own special way

The words that are written

Seem to warm my very day

When I read the words

They say Give In to Me

Now I must be honest

It’s with you I want to be

You have ignited a fire

Deep within my soul

Burns with heated passion

You’re the one that has control

So I do listen very closely

And read every word you write

I only have one question

Shall we sing again tonight?
