Hidden Beauty

Hidden Beauty

A Poem by JUSTWRITING
"

The joy of prettiness!

"
Lusciously green and achingly beautiful,
This rare sight unfurls
Right before my eyes.
Unbelievably, I continuously blink,
Not quite believing the sight in front of me.

Standing tall and regal
Are scores of trees, of many variety-
Lanky trees, short trees, bare trees
Trees baring fruits, trees full of flowers, and leafy trees.
Countless trees blanket the whole area.

And not just trees! There are plants, and
Flowers and grass!
Covering the floor like a carpet-
A colourful, pretty carpet that can
Only be seen and admired, not stepped on.

But within all this beauty
There is a lurking danger
Hidden in every corner.
And an unnatural stillness- making it very quiet.
Too quiet.
For this is a place where none are, and none shall live.
But filled with hidden beauty and dangers of all kind.

Behold, the forest!

JUSTWRITING
So, a friend of mine asked me write a poem for the college magazine. Now, I didn't have one. So I sat and wrote a poem. This is the result. Now what's your opinion?
