Dark is the moon as we lay so embraced, Glimmering stars reflect tears on your face, Silk was the touch; your hand brushed on mine, Whispers from heaven, so near is the time, Reflect on this life, the tears and the joy, The heart of this soldier, it's time to deploy, Slow was the breath as I wait on God's grace, Six of my brothers carry me forward, my resting place, The eerie whine of this bugle, taps pierces the sky, The flag now is lowered to complete my deploy.
I went my friends funerals. A Soldier's funeral is sad enough. When they play taps. Even strong men find tears. Good when the Soldiers carry the resting Soldier to his final resting place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
