On this day I look around, My brothers are here, we stand our ground, As fear and death lie all around, upon this field so gray, What terrors will come, we brothers in arms? So young so brave, we stand today to keep the faith of our fathers, We get the call; we make the move, as young lions run with pride, You pray to God and never stop, as hundreds have before me, Then look around for sight or sound from friends we lost this day, Tomorrow will bring the same as today with less of my brothers beside, Will this be the day; I make my way to the cross, which is waiting for me.
Powerful and true description of war. When war is near. Men don't think of death. They think of life. The poem had a old war feel. WW2 and WW1 were deadly and bloody wars. Left nations with great tears. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry. I shared to my Wordpress.

the ugly truth.I am big anti military.I love the soldiers hate the war.i often wonder how many soldiers you would have to refuse to fight before the war could no longer exist.I often wonder if we will ever be happy and at peace on this planet as a company of humans.great poem.breaks my heart
