spitting in the face of “god”

timothy ray brown,

whose bone marrow transplant was initially meant to ward off the

leukemia that would not stop

attacking his body---

also had AIDS.

 

he had AIDS.

 

in the medical world,

brown is referred to as

“the berlin patient”

(a reference to his having lived in germany after having

bone marrow STEM CELLS

transplanted to him

from an individual who has the rare

immunity to the HIV virus).

 

after having this procedure, he was monitored for

2 years---

and now has been said by his doctors to be cured completely of both

leukemia

&

AIDS.

 

and though doctors are not yet sure,

just what fundamental component in the

treatment

actually cured him---

to not jump in the air when you hear this information,

is

simply

absurd.

 

clinical trials are supposed to begin in the coming year

& this can only mean one thing for the people on this earth

afflicted with this horrible disease.

 

we are closer to its end than we were to its beginning.

 

for brown,

one can only imagine what he must be going through---

the emotions that must be wielding in his strong heart

that has endured so very much as he walked amongst us

presumably healthy individuals

with both

leukemia & AIDS.

 

watching him speak,

there is a glimmer in his eyes---

one that

nobody else yet on this planet can understand.

 

our own human minds brought about this

“miracle”---

it was not sent by “god”---

and for those that remember the sweet little nothings uttered by the likes of hate-mongers

such as…

 

Jerry Falwell: “AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals”

 

let us spit in its face.

 

Mother Teresa: "It is a just retribution for improper sexual misconduct"

 

let us spit in its face.

 

Michael Savage: "Oh, you're one of the sodomites. You should only get AIDS and die, you pig. How's that? Why don't you see if you can sue me, you pig. You got nothing better than to put me down, you piece of garbage. You have got nothing to do today, go eat a sausage and choke on it."

 

let us spit in its face.

 

Pat Robertson: "Homosexuals want to come into churches and disrupt church services and throw blood all around and try to give people AIDS and spit in the face of ministers."

 

let us spit in its face. 

 

American Family Association of Kentucky's Dr. Frank Simon: "There are hundreds of children in America who are dying of AIDS because they were sexually abused by homosexuals."

 

let us spit in its face.

 

Rick Santorum: "If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual Gay sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything!"

let us spit in its face.

 

Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church in Virginia: "Hear the word of the LORD, America, f*g-enablers are worse than the f**s themselves, and will be punished in the everlasting lake of fire!"

 

had enough?

 

spit in the face of the reason

which hate-mongers everywhere

have used as their excuse to

torment

individuals

because of the fictions they adhere to

& realize that in this first step towards

eliminating this terror that has plagued our species for far too long,

we take yet another step

towards the end of this torment & the end of the reason for this torment. 

 

this day

is a most

beautiful day

and for humans

everywhere.
