after many hems & haws as to what to do about

the women of saudi arabia engaging in what has

been stated as “the largest women’s rights movement

in saudi arabia’s history,”

wherein saudi women have been getting behind the

wheel of cars

& driving

(as the country systematically bans all driving by female

inhabitants)---

crafty miss clinton has finally stepped up to the podium

in support of the women driving & blah blah blah,

but

making

certain

to

remind

us

that

"This is not about the United States, it's not about what any of us on the outside say, it is about the women themselves and their right to raise their concerns with their own government---

 

loosely translated,

 

“This is not about the United States and their relationship with Saudi Arabia’s oil producing apparatus, it must be made known that the women there are acting on their

own behalf---we did not tell them to do this…oh please please please don’t raise the

price of our oil!  Please don’t take our oil away---really, we don’t care what they do,

you know that Saudi Arabia---we’ve always been bosom buddies…always turned the

other cheek when your family chops off the head or the hands of somebody who

might have been gay or drunk---hell, amputate away!  Flog whoever you want!  So

women make up 5% of your work force, so what!  We won’t use terms like “sex

segregation” or “gender apartheid,” we promise!  Just please, please don’t take away

our oil.  Ok?”
