on the concept of “they”

on the concept of “they”

A Poem by delapruch
"

see note for reviewers.

"

if you try to run from responsibility

by asking who “they” are when someone

asserts obvious oppression, exploitation &

wrongdoing being committed by you & your

friends, then you, my friend are

“they”---

and, yes, you can pretend all that you want

that you won’t be found out & that history will

paint you the winner as it always seems to,
but there is a subtle underlying whisper of which

you have no control over

of which you cannot simply try to destroy with all of the bombs in your

arsenal or

with all of the money in your coffers---

this is the voice of those that understand that as long as there is one

person screaming,

not all are pleased with what is going on,

and as long as there is one person imprisoned,

not all are pleased with what is going on,

and as long as there are those with much much more than those who have

much much less,

not all are pleased with what is going on.

your best recourse is to reevaluate what is going on.

delapruch
“See the animal in his cage that you built
Are you sure what side you're on?
Better not look him too closely in the eye
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?”

-from the song “Right Where it Belongs,” by Nine Inch Nails
