exhaustion

exhaustion

A Poem by delapruch
"

Exhaustion painting by Rafi Talby you will never find an accurate quote dealing with exhaustion.

"

rocking in a

dark oak chair &

staring out the window

at the life outside---

a pile of wrinkles,

decrepit bones,

a loss of hope in

everything,

a loss of trust in

anyone,

counting the

seemingly unending

days like

burnt matchsticks,

redefining a cliché,

updating it for the

21st century,

so close to the point

where technology

would save,

but not close enough &

so,

rocking &

waiting &

rocking &

waiting &

rocking &

waiting &

rocking &

waiting &

as the sounds

fade &

the visuals

dim &

the teeth

grind &

the heart

hiccups,

focusing

what

concentration is

left on a

message some

child scrawled

into the wet cement

down below.
