dead weight

dead weight

A Poem by delapruch
"

"

the pouring of compliments

as transparent as cellophane

stacking upon the shoulders &

the attempt to get inside by this

perpetrator seems relentless.

reminiscent of others

whose sole purpose is to

drain all individuality &

deprive of all positivity---

squeezing it all out like

powerful hands wringing a

paper towel

as if to prove to the occupants of

a lavatory that

said master of the universe

has just made a

tinkle.

digging & digging

as if the very doing so will stimulate a

an otherwise barricaded self to

suddenly gush with sentiment

wherein all intimate details of a life

will become apparent to an

interest which only sprung from

complete utter boredom with existence &

the need to prove to themselves that

all share the same bitterness in

life.

ever so curious

wanting to interfere with the reality of

all present---

cats that meow & meow & meow

hoping to bring down all those

around them---

but, these felines hate the water

so find a bridge & the deepest river, pond, lake or

ocean &

push them right in---

as they thrash in the water

quite possibly,

all the dead weight might

just take them

& as the wonderful water fills the lungs

they will meow no more.
