these books

these books

A Poem by delapruch
"

"

the bible &

the qu’ran,

hmmm….

how many bodies have been stacked up dead

throughout history for the sake of these books?

how many people have killed & continue to kill for the sake of

these books?

how many people deprive others of their freedoms for the sake of

these books?

how many people abuse their children for the sake of

these books?

how many people have been conquered in the name of these books?

how many people condemn others on the account of

these books?

how many people deprive themselves of simple human happiness

for what these books promise?

how many people think that the end of all of our lives is coming

because of these books?

how many people will say these books are responsible for actual human progress,

reducing such acts to these books (as if without these books we would be unable to provide for ourselves)?

how many people would kill themselves tomorrow if they woke up &

their little book had been erased from the planet?

how many would spend the rest of their lives killing others who they held responsible for the elimination of all their little books?

how many will continue to kill each other because they think their little book is right &

the other little book is wrong?

Like all religious books they have their fanatical believers.Who defy the words of their books which condemn killing. To try and prove how very religious they are.

This is a very sad truth and a very well written poem.
